Thank you Reg, from Hamilton, for your question, "Is the right equipment necessary to succeed?"
Among the most important steps in improving your game is to make sure you have the right equipment.
For instance, It's essential to select a driver well-suited to your level of play.
Drive lofts vary from less than seven to more than twelve degrees.
Expert golfers, (Professionals or low handicap 0-5 level of expertise!) who generate lots of clubhead
speed and can power the ball off the tee usually opt for drivers with lofts of nine degrees or less.
Average golfers often use drivers with lofts of ten or eleven degrees.
If you are a beginning golfer or your swing is relatively slow, you'll likely need a driver loft of twelve
degrees or more to help you lift the ball into an ideal trajectory.
When in doubt, visit your local CPGA Professional or Golf Instructor.
Keep it in the Short Grass, and good things, will happen often.
