With the current state of Sports, being jumbled to say the least, many of my golf students have written me, for my views on the State of Golf.
(Thank you for your cards, letters, and emails, Keep them coming!)
I have written several emails to sports programs, and called into talk shows to voice my opinions, for what they are worth.
90% of the following commentary, was written to me, in emails, over the past week, almost word for word identical, and views which I have shared on Talk Shows, and on the Air, in January 2005.
It is a long email, but hopefully, well worth the READ.
The following is not intended to offend loyal fans of Hockey,Tennis, Basketball, Football or Baseball . It is, rather, an attempt to put everything in its proper perspective. Ever wonder why Golf is growing in popularity and why people who don't even play go to Tournaments or watch it on TV?

Why do Golf Courses have 18 holes????
During a discussion among the club's membership board at St. Andrews in Scotland, in 1858, a senior member pointed out that it takes exactly 18 shots to polish off a Fifth of Scotch. By limiting himself to only one shot of Scotch per hole, the Scot figured a round of golf was finished when the bottle was empty.
